For Sale is a Smith & Wesson Early model 42 centennial revolver. 5 shot .38 special, double action only. Gun is all original 2” barrel J frame. This model is an alloy frame. These were introduced in 1952 and produced till 1974, ramp and groove sights, smooth horned style grips with S. & W. Medallions, and a rarely encountered pin stored under the right side grip to lock the back strap safety down. Only 2 models were manufacture like these the model 40 and model 42.Gun is in 95–96 % condition but functions flawlessly.
