Description
I have an Swiss Eidgenössischer Stutzer model of 1851 rifle for sale.
These were considered to be "Designated Riflemen" rifles issued to the units most skilled soldiers.
This rifle while mostly intact has a few modifications in the past 175 years.
The barrel has been replaced with an 1x18 twist .451 bore like the originals.
The ramrod, double set triggers, rear iron/barrel sight, stock, hardware, and lock are all original.
Sometime in it's life when rebarreled it had an globe front sight and rear european diopter sight added.
Their are no existing cracks in stock but shows some repairs in the recent past.
This is a Shooter Slug gun like an original, it is extremely accurate (1" 5 shot at 50 yds) and the typical load I shoot is 53 grains 3F behind an Lee .455 minie ball resized to .450"
I have installed buttstock spacer attached thru original stock screw and removed upper acorn nut/screw (attached) for shoulder/offhand/bench shooting. They were originally designed for arm purchase shooting.
Though not 100 % original this is is a solid shooter for the serious BP competitor.
