This is one of the earliest serial numbers of the 1903 Springfield, dating to the end of World War 1. It has a serial number higher than 1M so it should be safe to shoot. (Many people feel the 1903 Springfields with serial # lower than 1M were not deemed safe). That said, any used firearm should be inspected prior to use.
The bluing looks really good for a 107 year-old firearm!
The original stock has been exchanged for a solid Walnut stock.
The action cycles smoothly.
Included is a original-looking canvas carry case. The case is marked "Model 1903 1918 J.Q.M.D" I don't know if this is authentic or a repro, but you can inspect.
