Make: Weatherby, MFG by Nikko Kodensha, Japan Model: Olympian Serial Number: W000970 Year of Manufacture: 1977-1981 Caliber: 12 Gauge 2 3/4″ Chamber Action Type: Over / Under with Single Selective Inertial Trigger & Ejectors Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “12 GA – 2 3/4” CHAMBER”, the right side is marked “OLYMPIAN by Weatherby / SOUTHGATE, CALIF – MADE IN JAPAN”. The bottom of the bottom barrel is marked “NIKKO PROOF STEEL”. The left side of both barrels is marked “NP” in an oval, the top is marked “FULL” and the bottom is marked “MOD.”. The bottom of the mono block is marked “W / 000970”. The bottom of the left lug is marked “12-2 ¾” in an oval. The forend metal is marked “000970” and the wood is marked “0970”. The sides, top, and bottom of the receiver, the lever, and the forearm metal have scroll engraving. The top of the receiver is marked “W000970”. Barrel Length: 28” with Ventilated Rib Choke: Full over Modified, fixed. Sights / Optics: The gun is mounted with a brass bead at the front of the rib. The rib has checkering for glare reduction. Weight: 7 lb 10.1 oz Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are checkered wood with a rosewood capped pistol grip, finger groove forend, fluted straight comb, and a brown vent rubber Weatherby recoil pad. The pistol grip cap has a white diamond inlay and a white spacer. The checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures approximately 14” & 13” from the front of the trigger to the back of the rubber buttpad and wood, respectively. The drop at the comb is approximately 1 5/8” and at the heel is 2 1/2”. The cast is about neutral. The stocks rate in about Fine-Plus overall condition.
