NEW Magtech 9mm Zinc Plated Steel Case Ammunition Magtech has been producing brass handgun ammunition that's known for being high quality while coming in at a very budget friendly price point. We've been a direct dealer for Magtech for years and have always had great success with their products. They recently released a new steel case version of their popular Magtech 115gr FMJ 9mm ammunition. Obviously this will be cheaper than the brass cased 9mm, but what's interesting is that Magtech is zinc coating the casings. We've seen this with a select number of brass cased ammunition from select ammunition manufacturers such as Sig Sauer. With SIG's ammo the zinc coating is only applied to their most premium rounds. Compared to raw brass, the zinc plating is very smooth and aids in feeding and ejection. With traditional steel cased ammmunition the cases are coated with a polymer or laquer. The problem is that as the barrel gets hot the chambered round heats up and some of that coating gets in the chamber. The potential result are ejection issues and other malfunctions. Applying zinc to the steel case ammunition elimiates that problem and really makes this an attractive option. The biggest downside? You won't be reloading it, but how many people REALLY collect all of their brass and actually reload it? Probably very few. Most people who shoot leave their brass where they fell. And it's since you're saving money on the initial purchase it makes this even more attractive.
